OUR MODEL

Build the system before scaling the footprint.

A nucleus farm. A verified farmer network. Technical support. Market intelligence. Processing only where demand and economics justify it.

NUCLEUS + NETWORK

Commercial coordination without pretending one company can farm a country.

Vitel’s working model is designed to combine a small nucleus function with a distributed network of independent farmers and producer groups. Northern Sierra Leone is the planned launch geography, subject to current field and documentary verification.

Once the underlying land and operating facts are fully verified, the nucleus can serve as a place for demonstration, planting-material multiplication, training, data capture and aggregation. The network-development process provides the pathway to scale.

Evidence note: Vitel’s historical land and farmer relationships are being re-verified before public acreage or network-size claims are made.

HOW THE NETWORK MOVES

Coordination from production support to market.

The model is a sequence, not a claim that every layer is already operating.

PlannedVitel nucleus

Demonstration, field learning, planting-material multiplication, records and aggregation where verified.

BuildingAgronomy & planting material

Technical standards and access pathways that improve production quality.

VerifyingFarmer cohort

Independent farmers and producer groups enter only after current records are verified.

BuildingProduction data

Crop stage, yield, harvest, cost, buyer, price and payment records.

PlannedAggregation & logistics

Coordinate supply and transport when production and market paths justify it.

ValidatingProcessing & markets

Buyer requirements and processing economics determine what should scale.

FARMER NETWORK PROTOCOL

25 verified records. Then 50. Then 100.

The goal is not to collect names. It is to build a usable production network.

Verify the farmer

Confirm identity, location, current cassava activity, approximate area, crop stage, planting material, market channel and constraints.

Classify the opportunity

Identify whether the farmer’s best pathway is agronomy, planting material, demonstration, aggregation, processing, market linkage or a future outgrower model.

Measure participation

Track baseline, crop activity, harvest, yield, buyer, price, transport and post-sale results where Vitel-supported activity actually occurs.

WHAT VITEL CAN — AND CANNOT — PROMISE

Trust requires boundaries.

We can coordinate around

  • Agronomy knowledge and field records
  • Planting-material access pathways
  • Technical and program introductions
  • Aggregation and market intelligence
  • Demonstration and production learning
  • Processing pathways when validated

We do not promise without a documented arrangement

  • Free equipment
  • Cash or grants
  • Guaranteed prices
  • Guaranteed purchasing
  • Guaranteed financing
  • Unverified partner support
PILOT READINESS

A list of farmers is not an outgrower scheme.

1Verified farmer cohort
2Known crop calendar
3Agronomy & planting-material path
4Validated buyer route
5Basic unit economics
6Field-record capability

A formal pilot starts only after these conditions are sufficiently in place.
